The boys are back in the bachelor pad!

We were expecting a big fight, a bit of testosterone-fuelled drama and the usual goat nonsense.

What did we get? A quick “alright lads, met any nice ladies?” followed by a bro meeting around the hay. Clearly, there was a lot of catching up to do.

Meanwhile, the whole herd of ladies is back together, with mums reunited with their daughters.

Peace restored, families reunited and the boys back in their own little man cave.

Honestly, we spend half our lives expecting goat drama and they go and behave themselves. What is this nonsense?

Today has been a bit of a goat-free zone for the most part!

Instead, it was all about weighing every lamb. Overall, not too bad results, and thankfully another batch is ready to leave. The grass is starting to become a bit of an issue, so we need to make some room in the fields!

Then came a surprise visit from a goat experience customer who'd got their dates mixed up. It happens!

And Coconut and Lemon's owner popped by for a quick visit too. A short turnaround, but a lovely little surprise in the middle of a busy farm day.

So not much goat action today, but plenty of sheep, a bit of unexpected company and another day ticked off on the farm.

We always question whether we’ve made the right choice keeping a kid as a billy.

This year, we kept Sausage. And just look at him! What a lad he’s turning into. Those curls, that face, and he’s already looking rather pleased with his future job.

Definitely the right decision so far!

We’ve got four chosen nannies lined up for him, so next spring we’re hoping for an incoming delivery of little chipolatas. Sausage, you’ve got a job to do, lad! 😂

Little Miss Marmalade is taking her adventures to

Little Miss Marmalade is taking her adventures to new heights. Literally.
Yep, she's now climbing to the very top of the hay bales.
Her reasons?

1. Nobody's touched the hay up there. Perfect for a little snoop.

2. She gets a bird's-eye view of the humans and can spot the feeders coming from miles away.

She's Daisy's mini-me all right. Why walk when you can climb somewhere high and supervise the staff?

Honestly, she's going to be running this farm before we know it.

5 months into keeping cows, a journey we never thought we'd take!

What have we learnt so far?

1. Cows move when THEY want to. If they don't fancy going into the crush, forget it. You can bribe, coax and negotiate until you're blue in the face. They've got all day. You haven't.

2. We thought goats were bad! Cows are a whole new level of chaos. Gates off hinges, fencing demolished, river-crossing adventures and sheep released into places they absolutely shouldn't be. Basically, a four-legged gang with no respect for property or boundaries!

3. Every cow has their own personality. The greedy one, the nosy one, the “I'll follow you anywhere” one and the “absolutely not, mate” one. A bit like a village pub, really!

4. They love routine and hate shiny new equipment. Change one tiny thing and suddenly you've introduced a suspicious alien into their world.

Five months of learning, laughter, frustration and questioning who's actually in charge around here!

Would we make this our last batch? Probably not. Clearly, we haven't learnt our lesson yet!

What a weekend at West Barn!

A mum and daughter dreaming of their own goats, families and friends coming together, and a whole lot of giggling!

"This is like therapy, and the best kind!"

"Who knew goats were so sociable?"

We did! And we're slightly biased, but goats really are good for the soul.

Fancy a bit of goat-powered therapy?

We've got weekday availability next week and just TWO tickets left for Goat-Tea on Saturday.

Don't say we didn't warn you, you might just fall in love with a goat!

WELL, HELLO LADIES! RAMSES HERE!

Head honcho of the boys, professional heartbreaker, and apparently the lady calls me Stinky. Jealousy is an ugly thing, darling!

💕 Am I a softy? Absolutely! Get that brush out and I'm putty in your hands.

💪Will I nut you? Only if you try stealing my dinner. Touch my feed and we're having aHEAD-TO-HEAD!

😘 Those funny noises? That's my seductive voice, thank you very much. A chap has to keep the ladies interested!

I'm enjoying my VIP shed stay until the 18th, then it's back to bachelor life with the boys.

Come say hello while you can, bring a brush and, most importantly… SNACKS!
