What a weekend at West Barn!

A mum and daughter dreaming of their own goats, families and friends coming together, and a whole lot of giggling!

"This is like therapy, and the best kind!"

"Who knew goats were so sociable?"

We did! And we're slightly biased, but goats really are good for the soul.

Fancy a bit of goat-powered therapy?

We've got weekday availability next week and just TWO tickets left for Goat-Tea on Saturday.

Don't say we didn't warn you, you might just fall in love with a goat!

WELL, HELLO LADIES! RAMSES HERE!

Head honcho of the boys, professional heartbreaker, and apparently the lady calls me Stinky. Jealousy is an ugly thing, darling!

💕 Am I a softy? Absolutely! Get that brush out and I'm putty in your hands.

💪Will I nut you? Only if you try stealing my dinner. Touch my feed and we're having aHEAD-TO-HEAD!

😘 Those funny noises? That's my seductive voice, thank you very much. A chap has to keep the ladies interested!

I'm enjoying my VIP shed stay until the 18th, then it's back to bachelor life with the boys.

Come say hello while you can, bring a brush and, most importantly… SNACKS!

WELL, WELL, WELL… LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENED!

Someone’s had to cancel last minute, which means we’ve got TWO SPACES UP FOR GRABS TOMORROW AT 10AM!

Fancy a morning surrounded by wall-to-wall goats, questionable goat behaviour, plenty of belly laughs and enough joy to see you through the week?

You’ll leave with a daft grin on your face, probably covered in goat hair, and wondering why you don’t spend more time with goats!

Slide into our DMs to bag your spot. These spaces aren’t available on the website, so don’t go looking there like a lost goat!

Two spaces. Tomorrow. 10am.

WHO’S COMING TO PLAY WITH THE GOATS THEN?

When goat besties get back together!

After sadly losing our smallest billy this week 💔, fluffy boy Lemon has been out in the field keeping Zatar company while the working billies tend to the nannies!

Back in the shed and Lemon BOLTS straight in to find his bestie Coconut! Cue headbutt hellos and bouncy boy madness!

Bet you didn’t think goats remembered their mates? These two clearly have some catching up to do!

West Barn, where even the goats have besties!

Meet Dude. Dude has absolutely no real purpose on

Meet Dude.

Dude has absolutely no real purpose on the farm.

He’s a castrated Ryeland, a bottle lamb and, quite frankly, a little bit useless.

But he does have one very important job.

Teaching the lambs to come in.

Because once you’re in Dude’s field, you WILL meet Dude.

Car door opens? Dude’s there.

Get out? Dude’s there.

Try to walk past him? Good luck.

He’s basically a four-legged welcome committee with zero respect for personal space.

Useless? Probably.

Standout and completely loveable? Absolutely.

Everyone needs a Dude. 🐑

Fancy two hours where your biggest decision is whe

Fancy two hours where your biggest decision is whether you want another cup of tea or another piece of cake?

Our next Goat-Tea is all about slowing down, switching off and spending a couple of very peaceful hours with a herd of ridiculously lovable pygmy goats.

Bring your friends, bring your family, come for a catch-up, a little celebration or simply because life has been a lot lately and you fancy two hours of fuzzy feelings, warm hands and goats.

You’ll spend time with the goats first, feeding, brushing and generally enjoying their company before heading into our lovely marquee for homemade cake, tea, coffee and a good old natter.

And because I know there are questions...

“Do we eat the cake with the goats?”

No. Absolutely not.

Because the goats would eat the cake. And then they'd probably eat yours too. They have no respect for personal boundaries when cake is involved.

The marquee is indoors, so you’ll be warm and dry, and we can pop the heater on if it’s a chilly day. I would still recommend coming wrapped up warm because this is Northumberland in autumn, not the Caribbean.

There will, however, be plenty of tea and coffee to warm your soul, your hands and possibly your toes.

And the cake?

I’ll be making two autumn-inspired homemade cakes, currently looking like:

🍎 Apple crumble cake
🤍 White chocolate and blackberry chocolate cake

So expect goats, cake, cups of tea, plenty of chatting and that lovely feeling of having properly switched off for a couple of hours.

This is also our LAST Goat-Tea before we move farms, which makes this one a little bit extra special.

And there are currently just FOUR tickets left.

If you've been thinking about joining us, this is your nudge.

Come for the goats. Stay for the cake. Leave feeling a little bit lighter.

Adults only.

Sharing a moment of affection or is Lilly bowing down to Maria's reign? Who knows.

One minute it was gentle head rubs and looking all sweet and innocent. Five seconds later they were nutting heads and reminding each other exactly where they stand in the pecking order.

Lilly is all about the food with just a tiny sprinkle of power.

Maria? She wants all the power and all the food. No compromises, no negotiations, no discussion required.

Some things never change in the goat world. 🤣

Hello, it’s me… Princess Daisy. 👑

Haven’t seen my beautiful face for a while, have you?

Maybe I’ve been hiding. Maybe I haven’t. Or maybe you simply haven’t been popping up on the feed because, let’s be honest, the algorithm never seems to work the way you want it to.

The woman spends half her life making posts and then wonders why nobody sees them. Honestly, I think she needs more goats in her marketing strategy. Preferably me.

Anyway, I have important news.

Next week, Monday to Thursday, we have availability for you lovely people to come and meet my pretty face, have some goat time and, of course, meet my little minion Marmalade too.

Because really, who wouldn’t want two of me?

I’m off now. There’s food to be eaten and I have a very busy schedule of standing around looking fabulous.

Oh, and apparently the Events page has been updated too. The woman is going on about cake again, and something about spooky pumpkins.

Personally, I think she should stop talking about cake and start sharing it with the goats.

Go and have a nosy anyway.

Have a lovely Sunday, folks.

I’m off to eat some more food.

Biscoff beard update because I’m the King of Hugs

Biscoff beard update because I’m the King of Hugs and obviously my subjects need to be kept in the know.

My beard is FILLING OUT now. No longer just a few lonely strands hanging about looking confused. We’re talking proper beard development!

And I’m quite sure the nannies are impressed. I’ve been working very hard on my newly discovered flirting skills and, between the beard and the charm, I’m basically irresistible.

The nannies may disagree, but frankly, they’re just playing hard to get.

Behold… the resume the flat goat pose. The ultimate in goat relaxation.

Charlotte has clearly had a very busy day and has decided there is only one sensible solution…

FLAT. OUT.

Wouldn’t you love to relax as much as Charlotte? Or perhaps just spend 45 minutes in her company, switching off from the busy world for a while?

Come meet the goats, feed them, brush them and generally forget about everything else for a little while.

Charlotte highly recommends the flat-out approach. She’s clearly mastered it.

On our goat keeping course yesterday, I got asked:

On our goat keeping course yesterday, I got asked:

“How much time do you actually spend with your goats each day?”

Well… let’s do the goat maths.

Feed rounds alone are around 2 hours a day.

Time to sit down, have a brew and just chill with them?

Unless I’m doing a goat experience, probably about 30 minutes if I’m lucky.

Would I like that to be more?

Absolutely bloody yes.

Because sitting with goats is my kind of therapy.

The chomping noises.

The constant demand for attention.

The goat who thinks your lap is clearly the best place to be.

The one who needs a scratch RIGHT NOW.

And the general feeling that, for a little while, absolutely nothing else matters.

It’s pure bliss.

And I think that’s why I love our goat experiences so much. I get to watch other people discover exactly what these daft little creatures can do for you.

You arrive with your busy life, your list of things to do and your brain running at 100mph.

Then 10 minutes later you’re stood watching a goat chew a carrot like it’s the most important job in the world.

And somehow… you’re calmer too.

Maybe the goats have cracked the secret to life.

Eat. Nap. Demand cuddles. Repeat.

Honestly, they might be onto something.

Our second Goat-Tea happened at the weekend and on

Our second Goat-Tea happened at the weekend and once again, the goats proved they are excellent hosts... although their table manners still need some work.
Why
A huge thank you to Mam for making the tea and doing the flowers for the tables. She definitely made things look far more organised than they normally do around here!

We had a very happy, very cake-loaded group.

And yes, the chocolate cake was a little bigger than planned. Okay, considerably bigger. So when people started taking cake home, out came the clingfilm cake. Because around here we don't waste good cake!

There were smiles, giggles, astonishing goat noises, an impressive amount of goat love and, of course, several random goat facts added to everyone's knowledge.

We even had a family video call happening to Yorkshire, Newcastle and all the way to Jamaica.

Apparently a Goat-Tea makes an excellent backdrop for a family catch-up. Who knew?

The goats did their usual thing, wandering around, demanding attention and generally making sure nobody forgot they were the main attraction.

And judging by all the smiles, everyone had a brilliant time.

Now we're getting ready for the next one...

17th October is our next Goat-Tea and we're giving the cakes an autumn makeover.

I'm thinking chocolate cake with an autumn twist and maybe an apple crumble cake.

Honestly, I'm already hungry.

There are still some spaces available if you fancy a couple of hours of goats, cake, hot drinks, random goat facts and a proper escape from everyday life.

Come for the cake.

Stay for the goats.

Leave wondering why you didn't book sooner.
