Fancy hanging out with the goats, getting creative and making your very own pumpkin?

Join us on 28th or 31st October at 10am for a Halloween morning with the goats, followed by decorating your own ceramic pumpkin to take home.

No problem! Adults can come along for the goats, drinks and refreshments without decorating a pumpkin for just £20 per person.

Please note: spectators are only permitted when accompanied by someone with a decorating ticket. We don't want a whole pumpkin painting audience turning up!

Why does this goat have no horns when the rest of them do?

Meet Caramel. She came from a Scottish herd where the goats are disbudded at a very young age by a licensed vet.

Some herds choose to do this for safety, much like some beef farmers do with cattle.

But surely that means Caramel doesn’t fight with the others?

Erm... absolutely not.

Caramel has clearly never received the memo.

She still joins in with the head-butting, pushing and general goat negotiations. Goats have incredibly hard skulls, so having no horns certainly doesn't stop her from standing her ground.

She does tend to back down a little quicker, but that isn't really because she has no horns. It's more about her place in the herd hierarchy.

She's not one of the top goats, so when one of the higher-ranking girls tells her she's had enough, Caramel usually decides that's probably a sensible time to leave.

Basically, she's hornless, but definitely not defenceless.

And she's still got plenty of attitude!

Hey humans, it’s lazy Sunday!

So while you’re deciding what you’re doing this week, may I suggest something much more important...

GOATS.

More specifically, me. Marmalade. Munching carrots, climbing onto laps and generally making you say “awww” far too many times.

Here’s what’s still available this week:

Tuesday, Wednesday and the entire weekend are FULLY BOOKED.

So if you fancy some proper goat therapy this week, don’t hang about. Those spaces have a habit of disappearing!

And remember, our website booking system opens 60 days in advance, so if you’ve got a particular date in mind, get planning.

I often get asked who the naughtiest goats are on

I often get asked who the naughtiest goats are on our goat experiences.

Well, let me introduce you to three of the main suspects...

First up, Heather.

Heather is our eldest and officially a great-grand nanny, so you might think she would have earned some wisdom over the years.

Absolutely not.

Heather has two main hobbies: eating and opening gates.

She can hoover up food like a Dyson and has somehow developed the ability to open gates. And not just the little ones either. Yes, the big gate in the field. She’s a professional escape artist with a very good understanding of where the food is kept.

Then we have Ethal.

Ethal has what can only be described as a highly advanced food detection system.

If a shed door is open, she knows.

If I walk towards the shed, she knows.

If I even think about going into the shed, I’m pretty sure she knows.

She appears from absolutely nowhere like a puff of smoke, standing there waiting to inspect exactly what I’m doing and, more importantly, whether there is food involved.

And then there’s Daisy.

Daisy doesn't really do naughty.

Daisy does princess.

She must receive special attention, preferably before anyone else, and absolutely must be wherever I am.

If I move, Daisy moves.

If I stop, Daisy stops.

If I go somewhere she wasn't invited, she considers this a personal betrayal.

Of course, these are only three of the characters in our goat gang.

There are plenty more with their own special talents for causing chaos, stealing food and generally keeping me on my toes.

But you'll have to ask me about those next time you visit.

Although by then, they may have added a few more crimes to their records.

People often wonder, or ask us, what happens to th

People often wonder, or ask us, what happens to the goats if they’re not breeding or are never going to breed for one reason or another.

Well… here, they retire.

We retire nannies for all sorts of reasons. Maybe they haven’t recovered particularly well after having kids, they’re getting older, they haven’t quite taken to motherhood (yep, sometimes nannies just aren’t natural mums!), or they simply aren’t big enough to breed safely.

Then there are girls like Edith and Charlotte, who have genetically broken mouths. This means their teeth or jaw haven’t developed quite right from the get-go, so breeding isn’t an option for them.

So what happens?

They stay.

Our retired goats spend their days doing what goats do best: munching carrots, soaking up attention, bossing everyone around and generally living their best retired life.

If it’s obvious that a goat will never breed, we may occasionally consider finding them a wonderful pet home, but honestly, that doesn’t happen very often.

Because once they’re here… they’re family.

A rather large, hooved, horned, slightly chaotic family, but family all the same.

Every single goat has a story, a personality and a place in our herd. And if you come along on one of our experiences, just ask Sam about them.

She’ll happily tell you their history, their quirks, who their mum is, who they’re related to and probably several stories you didn’t even ask for.

And maybe THIS is why we have far too many goats…

We just can’t seem to retire the retirement goats.

Ok lovely followers, we need your help deciding!

Last year we had you creating your own ghost scenes for Halloween, and they were a big hit.

This year we're thinking of changing things up and letting you decorate your very own ceramic pumpkin!

We're thinking one session during half term and another on Halloween itself. You'll get to decorate your pumpkin, get creative and, of course, spend some time with the goats.

This one would be for children aged 10+ and adults are very welcome too. So yes, grown-ups, you can join in and create your own spooky masterpiece!

But before we get the cogs turning, pumpkins ordered and Sam gets carried away with another event idea...
