Our Goat Keeping Course is designed for people who are thinking about getting goats and want to learn the basics before taking the plunge.

Held here on our farm in Northumberland, the course lasts approximately 3 hours and combines practical, hands-on experience with the information you need to get started.

What will you learn?

We’ll cover the essentials of goat keeping, including:

• The basics of everyday goat care
• The legal requirements for keeping goats in the UK
• What you need to consider before buying goats
• What a healthy goat looks like
• Basic goat health and wellbeing
• Feeding and general management
• Hands-on experience of goat hoof trimming
• Practical tips and advice from keeping our own herd

And, of course, you’ll get plenty of opportunity to meet and spend time with our goats while seeing how we manage them here on the farm.

There’s no better way to find out about goat keeping than getting stuck in and seeing it for yourself.
